ThiS time-of-flight distance measurement device (1) is provided with: a light-emitting element (4) for emitting into a space modulated light modulated by a pattern having a repeating cycle; a drive unit (3) for driving the light-emitting element (4); a photoreceptor element (6) for sorting and storing to a plurality of storage capacitors (14a, 14b) charges in response to incident light that includes reflected light resulting from reflection of the modulated light from an object; a control unit (5) for controlling the exposure of the photoreceptor element; and a signal-processing unit (11) for calculating the distance to the object, using a value sampled by the photoreceptor element. The exposure of the photoreceptor element (6) is controlled so as to have sensitivity to at least one high-order harmonic, and a fundamental harmonic component and a high-order harmonic component are linearly combined to calculate the distance to the object. By adding the high-order harmonic component, distance errors can be reduced appropriately to a commensurate extent, as compared to when distance is calculated from the fundamental harmonic component only. |
