The present invention relates to a method for controlling network connection of a communication terminal. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method for controlling network connection of a communication terminal, which is suitable for selectively blocking automatic switching from a first network to a second network in the connection of the communication terminal, and an apparatus thereof. The method for controlling network connection of a communication terminal according to the present invention comprises the steps of: monitoring if switching to a second network occurs when a communication terminal executes data communication using a first network; checking if a target device connected to the communication terminal is a registered switch avoidance device when a switch try to the second network is detected; switching the first network to the second network if a result of checking shows that the target device is not a registered switch avoidance device; and maintaining connection with the first network if a result of checking shows that the target device is a registered switch avoidance device.
