PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route display method capable of allowing a user to virtually experience a movement, while enabling the user to confirm a route to be passed for the first time by an image in advance.SOLUTION: A route display method includes: acquiring departure place information and destination information (S3); retrieving a route from a departure place to a destination place based on the departure place information and the destination information, and extracting a group of a plurality of passage points constituting the retrieved routes as route information (S5); extracting a plurality of photographing images corresponding to photographing positions same as each of the plurality of passage points or to adjacent photographing positions, from a database for storing the plurality of photographing images photographed in the plurality of photographing positions in association with the positions of the plurality of photographing positions on a map (S6); and a displaying a map image showing a route from a departure place to a destination based on the route information before a user moves from the departure place to the destination, and sequentially displaying the plurality of extracted photographing images in interlock with a virtual movement from the departure place to the destination on the route (S11).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
