The invention relates to a cutting system for a sheet-or wafer-type food product (3.6), comprising means for the longitudinal transport of the product; means for detecting the position (2.3) of the product; and means for cutting the product. The cutting means are activated in coordination with the detection means. Said cutting means comprise a first disk (2.4) designed to rotate and move transversely to the direction of advancement of the product, and to cut same transversely. There are also second disks (2.5) for longitudinal cutting. The whole process is carried out over a minimum course, in a guided manner, one-way, and without changes of direction. In this way, a product is obtained with an improved finish and in a reduced amount of time. |
