PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tension adjustment device which can early converge an excessive tension fluctuation of a strip.SOLUTION: A tension adjustment device 100 includes: a damper roll 110 which presses a continuously passing strip 5 from a first direction perpendicular to a pass line so that a winding angle of the strip 5 is smaller than 180°; a cylinder 120 which moves the damper roll 110 in the first direction; and a pressure application part which applies a pressure onto the cylinder 120 so that the damper roll 110 moves in a direction of lowering a tensile force of the strip 5. The damper roll 110 so moves in the first direction according to tensile fluctuation of the strip 5 as to suppress said tension fluctuation, and when the damper roll 110 moved to a predetermined position by increase of a tensile force of the strip 5, the pressure application part applies a pressure onto the cylinder 120.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
