PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide MUC1 antibodies.SOLUTION: The invention is directed to anti-mucin antibodies having improved antigen-binding and/or antigen recognition properties as well as a method for improving antigen binding and/or antigen recognition of an anti-mucin antibody. In particular, the invention is directed to anti-mucin antibodies useful for the treatment of cancer. In one embodiment, an antibody or a fragment or derivative thereof which is capable of binding to a mucin protein is provided, where the antibody or a fragment or derivative thereof comprises at least a portion of the heavy chain variable region which comprises a proline residue at amino acid position 28 according to the Kabat numbering.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
