PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove toner stains attached to a rotation body of a fixation part of an image forming apparatus by a usual printing operation and allow a user to easily confirm whether or not the toner stains have been removed.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus is set to a cleaning mode to form a cleaning area 104 on the front end side in the conveyance direction of a sheet member P and form a cleaning confirmation area 105 on the rear end side in the conveyance direction. The two area are formed in the conveyance direction of the sheet member P at a length not less than the peripheral length of the rotation body of the fixation part. An unfixed toner image formed in the cleaning area exhibits adhesiveness by heat at a nip part, which is controlled lower than in a usual case, when passing the nip part between two rotation bodies of the fixation part to adsorb stains on the surfaces of the rotation bodies without offsetting the image onto the rotation bodies. It is confirmed whether or not the stains on the surfaces of the rotation bodies have been adsorbed by the cleaning area, by confirming whether or not the stains of the rotation bodies have been transferred and attached to the cleaning confirmation area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
