Disclosed is a rectangular conduit (13) to control molten glass. A wall (23) of the conduit is composed of a platinum-rhodium alloy, and precious metal taps (29) can be installed to support the upper surface (25) of the wall and to reduce sagging of the upper surface when the conduit is at an increased temperature and is not filled with glass. The precious metal taps (29) can be accommodated in a channel (31) formed at a heat-resistant supporting structure (27). The heat-resistant supporting structure (27) can be a stacked body of two layers (33, 35), wherein one layer (33) has smaller crystal structures in comparison to the other layer (35). The layers are maintained together by adhesive (37). Provided is the rectangular conduit which solves problems in circular conduits, and achieves high rate of heat dissipation without undermining uniformity of heat flow in molten glass in a transverse direction. |
