Disclosed is an activating method of a fuel cell stack for performance recovery, which can recover performance by activating a fuel cell stack having lowered performance. The activating method of a fuel cell stack for performance recovery according to the present invention comprises the steps of: (a) injecting hydrogen as a reaction gas into an anode of the fuel cell stack in order to recover performance with respect to the fuel cell stack having lowered performance due to the long-term use; (b) applying current to the fuel cell stack while blocking air flowing into a cathode of the fuel cell stack; (c) permeating the hydrogen from the anode to the cathode of the fuel cell stack by partial pressure difference by applying the current of the fuel cell stack, and reducing a metal oxide film of the cathode; and (d) supplying air to the cathode of the fuel cell stack by switching off the current application of the fuel cell stack. |
