The present invention generally relates to location tracking and, more specifically, to a device and a method for using a geo-fence solver using power efficiently. A computer-executable method conducted by a user device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: generating a first set of geo-fence rules and a second set of geo-fence rules, which is a simplified subset of the first set of geo-fence rules, in a first chip set; transmitting the second set of geo-fence rules to a second chip set; powering down the first chip set; detecting whether at least one among the second set of geo-fence rules has been broken; and powering up the first chip set to determine whether the at least one broken second rule is indicative of breaking at least one rule of the first set of geo-fence rules if at least one among the second set of geo-fence rules has been broken. According to the embodiment of the present invention, the second chip set can be operated using less power as the second chip set is programmed to conduct a determining operation only when at least one among the second set of geo-fence rules is broken and the second chip set does not require calculation resources or costs to solve all the sets of geo-fence rules. |
