PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide crystalline forms of factor Xa inhibitors, and to provide compositions and methods thereof.SOLUTION: Provided in the specification are crystalline forms of a maleate salt of betrixaban, compositions and methods of preparation or use thereof. In another aspect, there is provided a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating a condition characterized by undesired thrombosis in a subject, comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and a therapeutically effective amount of one or more of the polymorphs of the maleate salt of betrixaban provided in the specification. In other embodiments, the pharmaceutical composition is suitable for oral delivery.
