Valve suitable for use in an error correcting servo loop, comprises co-operating stationary and movable ported members 32, 60 controlling the flow of air from an inlet 30 to one or the other of two outlets 24, 26. The members are of laminated construction, in which the ports extend through the whole thickness of a lamina so that they can be very accurately sized. The stationary member 32 consists of five laminations of 0.015 inch hardened and ground shim stock. Ports 50, 52 in the layers adjacent the central layer open at the top surface and communicate through the outer layers 40, 42 and through parallel body parts 13, 15, with the outlets 24, 26. The movable member is a flexible beam of three laminations. The port 54 in the centre layer communicates through body part 13 with inlet 30. The members are clamped between the body parts by screws 17, 19. An electric torque motor comprises polepieces 94, 96 located in the body by pins 102, a coil 98 surrounding the beam, and a magnet 92. Nulling screws 80, 82 extend into slots 81, 83 in the body parts.</p> |
