<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent light leakage between pixel electrodes across an image signal line, of a TN mode liquid crystal display device which conducts dot inversion driving with a three o'clock viewing angle. <P>SOLUTION: The pixel electrodes PX are formed on both sides of the image signal line DL on a first substrate SUB1, and edges of the pixel electrodes PX and the image signal line DL are overlapped with each other. A black matrix BM is formed on a section corresponding to the image signal line DL on a second substrate SUB2. By displacing the black matrix BM and the image signal line DL to the left side of the gap G of the pixel electrodes PX, light leakage caused by a disclination line DS produced with a transverse electric field between the pixel electrodes PX is prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
