1,235,223. Snap-action switches. SMIT NIJMEGEN ELECTROTECHNISCHE FABRIEKEN N.V. 25 Sept., 1969 [25 Sept., 1968], No. 47333/69. Heading H1N. A switch 7 is driven by a snap-action mechanism comprising a crank-shaft 12, crank 14 and spring 16, through a rotatable disc 8 having equi-angularly spaced slots and through a driving member 10a co-operating with disc 8 and driven by a shaft 9, driving member 10a temporarily engaging each time, during its movement, a slot of disc 8 to take it along for its stepwise rotation. The movable part of switch 7 is positively coupled to disc 8 and crank-shaft 12 is coupled to driving member 10a, by means of two co-operating elliptical toothed wheels 11, 13. As shown, disc is is a maltese cross but it is stated that it may be a cup disc provided in its rim with slots or holes, with which a driving pin and a locking pin are alternately engaged, the pins being moved to and fro in radial direction in respect of the cup disc by an eccentric attached to the driving shaft. Cam-shaft 12 is driven through lost-motion coupling 17, 18 by either a motor 21 or a handle 25. The switch is a tap changer for a regulating transformer. |
