<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic building material which shows high photocatalytic activity and is highly effective in preventing deposition of stains and growth of molds and algae. <P>SOLUTION: The ceramic building material is formed by applying a coating film on a surface of a ceramic substrate 1.
