<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telescopic shaft and a steering device equipped with the telescopic shaft preventing sliding resistance in extension and contraction from getting excessive even if the telescopic shaft is extended and contracted exceeding an extension and contraction range in normal use. <P>SOLUTION: Metal balls 55A and resin balls 55B having a diameter larger than that of the metal balls 55A are combined. Consequently, both of the metal balls 55A and the resin balls 55B slide in an axial groove 54 and an axial groove 41 when the intermediate shaft 16 is extended and contracted exceeding the extension and contraction range in normal use. The resin balls 55B support majority of pre-load and friction coefficient of resin is lower than that of metal. Consequently, sliding resistance when both of the metal balls 55A and the resin balls 55B slides gets lower than sliding resistance when only the metal balls 55A slides as conventional shaft, and easy assembly work is materialized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
