A method and device for generating Downlink(DL)/Uplink(UL) MEDIA ACCESS PROTOCOL (MAP) message are disclosed. According to the modulation coding mode indicated by all UL MAP IEs and DL MAP IEs belonging to an assigning Information Element (IE), the UL MAP IE and the DL MAP IE which indicate the same modulation coding mode are constructed into a corresponding Sub-map message, and all the UL MAP IEs and the DL MAP IEs belonging to a controlling IE are constructed into a Compressed map message, and the DL/UL MAP message is generated by combining the Compressed map message and the Sub-map message. Since the UL MAP IE and the DL MAP IE are in the same Sub-map message, and higher modulation coding mode can be adopted in the Sub-map message, the cost of map messages could be reduced significantly. |
