PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an abutting portion, which can easily manufacture the abutting portion constituting a hand end portion of a holding device.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for manufacturing an abutting portion which includes: a bag-shaped member 6a made of an elastic and airtight material (rubber 18 in this embodiment); and a granular substance 7 filled inside the bag-shaped member 6a. The abutting portion 6 is a member constituting a portion abutting against a workpiece in a holding device 1. The method for manufacturing the abutting portion 6 includes: a step of making a core 10 for forming the bag-shaped member 6a, by hardening the granular substance 7 using a binder 11; a step of forming the bag-shaped member 6a by forming a rubber 18 coating film having elasticity and airtightness around the core 10; and a step of breaking up the core 10 that is inside the bag-shaped member 6a. |
