PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance efficiency of a waterwheel at a maximum with an inexpensive constitution.SOLUTION: A waterwheel runner 13 for a waterwheel includes a plurality of runner blades 18 on which working fluid acts. Each runner blade 18 has: a pressure surface 31 and a negative pressure surface 32 which are extended in a flow direction of the working fluid; a front edge part 33 which connects the pressure surface 31 and the negative pressure surface 32 at an upstream side edge part of the working fluid; a rear edge part 34 which connects the pressure surface 31 and the negative pressure surface 32 at a downstream side edge part of the working fluid; a first patterned indented part 40 disposed in an indented form near the rear edge part 34 of the pressure surface 31 side; and a second patterned indented part 41 disposed in an indented form near the rear edge part 34 of the negative pressure surface 32 side.
