An area monitoring system is configured containing: a mobile terminal device (1) that receives input of event information indicating an event that occurred within an area to be monitored, and sends said event information along with identification information indicating whether the event information relates to a normal state or an abnormal state, and along with position information; and a management system (2). The management system (2): sets one record for each set of event information, position information and type information received from the mobile terminal device (1), and stores the received information in a database; and classifies each record by type information and by items with matching position information, uses the latest record information for each group generated by the classification to create separate images showing the relationship between the event and the position information for the normal state and for the abnormal state, and creates image data in which a layer created from each image is overlaid on a basic map image. A specification of a layer to be displayed is received, the specified layer and the basic map image are displayed, and the image of a layer that has not been specified is set to non-display status. |
