The concentration of butanol in fermentation broths is low and, consequently, butanol recovery with traditional techniques requires a large amount of energy. The invention relates to a low-energy-consumption method for the recovery of butanol. The method consists of an adsorption/desorption process using a polymer resin as an adsorbent. The desorption step is performed more efficiently and combined with condensation and decantation steps. |
