Formulations and compositions comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a compound having the formula Y - (CH 2 ) n - [CH 2 Y] m , wherein Y is SO 3 X or OSO 3 X independently chosen for each occurrence; X is cationic group independently chosen for each occurrence; n is 1, 2, 3 or 4; and m is 1 or 2, are described. Further described are therapeutic methods using the said formulations and/or compositions.
