PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide water-soluble metal processing oil excellent in lubricity and wear resistance even under severe processing conditions, and a coolant for metal processing obtained by diluting the same with water.SOLUTION: Provided is water-soluble metal processing oil obtained by lending: (A) dicarboxylic acid with a sulfide structure; (B) polyalkylene glycol; (C) a polyhydric alcohol polyalkylene oxide addition product; and (D) monocarboxylic acid.
