The present invention relates to a laundry treating apparatus comprising: a rotary knob; and a lighting surface wherein a plurality of lighting units are turned on or off in order along a predetermined circumference of the rotary knob in accordance to a rotating operation of the rotary knob. At least a part of the light units located on a lower part is shorter to occupy the circumference.
