A screen rotation method and apparatus, and a mobile device. The method does not use a gravity sensor to rotate the mobile device, but uses a simple gesture to move on a screen by a user, to judge whether the moving direction of fingers of a user is clockwise or anti-clockwise using a software program. The screen can be rotated according to the moving direction so long as the moving direction is determined, the rotation of the screen can be realized without the participation of any gravity sensor in the whole process, and it is unnecessary for a user to frequently switch usage scenarios and a switch button. Therefore, this method improves the user experience and protects the switch button as well.
