Disclosed is a method for eliminating the ambiguity caused by returns in measurement of a delay caused by reception of random codes placed at equal intervals in a frequency domain. A base station (2) calculates, on the basis of a ranging signal received from a terminal station (3), an adjustment value of transmission timing of the terminal station (3) and transmits the adjustment value to the terminal station (3). The terminal station (3) adjusts the transmission timing thereof in accordance with the adjustment value of transmission timing received from the base station (2). After having successfully determined that the adjustment of transmission timing of the terminal station (3) based on the ranging signal has succeeded, the base station (2) determines whether the adjustment of transmission timing of the terminal station (3) is appropriate or not. If having determined that the adjustment of transmission timing of the terminal station (3) is not appropriate, the base station (2) calculates an adjustment value of transmission timing for an additional adjustment, and transmits the calculated adjustment value to the terminal station (3), thereby causing the terminal station (3) to implement the further adjustment of transmission timing. |
