[Class 114] A screw propeller has its blades formed of normal contour and outline at its outer half, but toward boss the blade is divided into two parts 3, 4 separated by a passage 15, these parts being displaced on opposite sides of the median line and more widely spaced at the boss and gradually merge into the solid part. The tail 19 of the forward section 3 and the nose 20 of the rear section 4 overlap on the median line of the blade.</p> |
