摘要
439,350. Supplying air to furnaces. AMERICAN ENGINEERING CO., Aramingo Avenue, Philadelphia, U.S.A. March 22, 1935, No. 9012. Convention date, Jan. 16. [Class 51 (i)] In a furnace provided with an underfeed stoker secondary air is delivered above the fuel bed through fluid cooled ducts 12, Figs. 1 and 2, the walls of which are constituted by tubes 14 carrying the cooling fluid some of which are spaced apart to provide air delivery openings. The ducts are inclined and mounted in the furnace walls and may be arranged longitudinally or transversely above the fuel bed. The tubes are connected to headers 16, 17 which communicate with the boiler 18. Air is supplied to the lower ends of the ducts from a header 21 and branch pipes 22. Spacing members 24 are provided between the tubes or alternatively the tubes may be provided with longitudinal projections 27 as shown in Fig. 4. The tubes may be arranged to form conduits which are circular in section instead of elliptical as shown. According to a modification the ducts are arranged in staggered relation.
