[Problem] To provide a separator joining method for an electrical device, said method making it possible to join separators sufficiently even when separators that include a melt material and a heat-resistant material having a melting temperature that is higher than the melt material are used and the heat-resistant materials are made to face each other. [Solution] This separator joining method for an electrical device (packaged electrode) is a method for joining, using a light (L1), ceramic separators that sandwich an electrode (positive electrode (20) or negative electrode (30)). In a pressurization step of the separator joining method, pressure is applied, by means of a pressurization member (141) that transmits the light, via an electrode (positive electrode (20) or negative electrode (30)) to joining regions (end portions) of the ceramic separators which face each other. In a joining step, the light is passed through the pressurization member and is shone on the mutually opposing ends. In the joining step, a ceramic layer of one end portion, said layer having been heated by the light, and a polypropylene layer of the other end portion, said layer having been melted by the opposing ceramic layers, are joined. |
