PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for an SCL (soft contact lens) having suppressed adsorption of alginic acid and/or a salt thereof for the SCL. SOLUTION: The composition for the SCL is obtained by combining and formulating (A) the alginic acid and/or the salt thereof with (B) at least one selected from the group consisting of aspartic acid, aminoethylsulfonic acid, chondroitin sulfate, hyaluronic acid and a salt thereof.
