An electric power steering system including a steering angle sensor is provided to use a direction sensor detecting the rotation direction of a steering shaft through a multi-stage reduction gear and a motor position sensor detecting the rotation angle of a motor shaft. An electric power steering system including a steering angle sensor includes a steering shaft, a motor, a direction sensor(610), a rotatable member(620), a motor position sensor(640), and an electronic control unit. The steering shaft is connected to a steering wheel of a vehicle. The motor supplies auxiliary steering power. The direction sensor includes a signal transmission section and a signal reception section which faces each other. The rotatable member is rotated according to the rotation of the steering shaft while passing between the signal transmission section and the signal reception section. A slot is formed on one side of the rotatable member. The motor position sensor detects the rotation angle of a motor shaft. The electronic control unit receives electrical signals from the direction sensor and the motor position sensor respectively to calculate the steering angle.
