PURPOSE:To treat infections diseases in immunodeficient hosts having various basic diseases, by using a granulocytic colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) and an antimicrobial agent together. CONSTITUTION:A granulocytic colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) is administered to a patient in which a leukopenic state or leukopenia is predicted or patient after onset of an infections disease in 0.1-500mug, preferably 0.5-200mug dose and then an antimicrobial agent is administered. Human G-CSF having the following physico-chemical properties, etc., is preferred. Molecular weight; 19,000+ or -1,000 measured by sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS)-polyacrylamide electrophoresis. Isoelectric point; At least one of 5.5+ or -0.1, 5.8+ or -0.1 and 6.0+ or -0.1. Ultraviolet absorption characteristics; Maximum absorption at 280nm and minimum absorption at 250nm. Amino acid sequence to a residue at the 21st position from the N-terminal; Sequence indicated by the formula. Severe infections diseases which have hereto for been difficult to cure can be healed by the combined used of the G-CSF.
