This hood comprises an envelope placed over the head and having a breastplate (plastron), made from a filtering carbonaceous material incorporating a flexible inflatable structure. Sealing in the neck region is ensured by the compression of a polyurethane pad impregnated with activated charcoal. If the respiratory physiological function of the injured person is insufficient, it may be connected to an autonomous generator of ambient air filtered through an activated-charcoal cartridge. <IMAGE>
