<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide advantageous audio encoding or decoding using a spatial parameter. <P>SOLUTION: This encoding or decoding of an audio signal has a division filter bank for converting a time area stereo input signal into a sub-band area, a parametric stereo calculation unit for obtaining a parametric stereo bit stream by calculating a parametric stereo parameter as to a stereo input signal in the sub-band area, and for generating a mono-downmix in the sub-band area, a spectral band copy parameter estimating unit for estimating a spectral band copy parameter of the mono-downmix in the sub-band area, and for obtaining a spectral band copy bit stream, a frequency-time converter for converting the mono-downmix from the sub-band area into a time area, and a core encoder for encoding the mono-downmix in the time area to obtain a core bit stream. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
