<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily control a gap between substrates in a seal area of an electro-optical device. <P>SOLUTION: The electro-optical device includes: a pair of substrates 10 and 20; a plurality of coloring layers Cf with different colors from each other, which is formed on a pixel area 10a of at least either of the pair of substrates; a sealing material 52 arranged along a pixel area between the pair of substrates, which sticks the pair of substrates together, while including a gap material 56 for controlling the gap between the pair of substrates; and a plurality of dummy coloring layers dCf arranged with intervals on the same layer with the plurality of coloring layers, which simulates at least one coloring layer in the plurality of coloring layers in the seal area on at least either of the substrates. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
