Disclosed are spirocyclic chroman derivatives as represented by the general formula XXVIII, wherein D is phenyl, 2-hydroxy-phenyl or a pyridinyl moiety, all of which are para-substituted by K; K is carboxy (-COOH), -C(=O)-O-alkyl, -S(=O)2-N(alkyl)(alkyl), heteroaryl, alkylheteroaryl, aminocarbonyl (-C(=O)-NH2), or N-alkylaminocarbonyl (-C(=O)-NH(alkyl)); R23, R24, and R26 are each independently H or alkyl; p is 1 or 2; A2 and B2 are each H, or together form a double bond; and X2 is -CH2- or -O-; or a stereoisomer, pharmaceutically acceptable salt, hydrate, solvate, acid salt hydrate, or N-oxide thereof. Also disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition which comprises a compound as defined above and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and which optionally further comprises an opioid, an agent for the treatment of neuralgia/neuropathic pain, an agent for the treatment of depression, an agent for the treatment of incontinence, or an anti-Parkinson's agent.
