PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically choose one or more documents including information different from information of an interest document from a group of documents linked by linkage and display the chosen documents to a user.

SOLUTION: A screen is displayed on a display device according to a file that includes region information indicating a region on the screen on which an object is displayed and link information specifying additional files other than an own file. One of a plurality of files is obtained as an interest file. A file group constituted of an additional file specified by link information of the interest file and an additional file specified by tracing the link information of that additional file is extracted from the plurality of files. For each of the files included in the file group, difference between the region information of the file and the region information of the interest file is determined. A given number of files are chosen from the file group in the order of greatness of the judged difference. The selected files are displayed on the display device.
