<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medicine containing at least one double-stranded oligoribonucleotide (double-stranded RNA) designed to inhibit the expression of a target gene. <P>SOLUTION: One strand of the double-stranded RNA is at least partially complementary to a targeted gene. The targeted gene can be selected from the following group: cancer genes, cytokine genes, Id protein genes, developmental genes, and prion genes. The target gene can be expressed in a pathogenic organisms (especially Plasmodium).
