In one embodiment, a TURN client (12) obtains one or more candidate addresses including a TURN relayed transport address of a TURN server (16) ; generates a camouflaged candidate list, based on the candidate addresses, in which the TURN relayed transport address is obscured ; generates a connection setup message comprising the camouflaged candidate list and sends the connection setup message to a TURN peer (20). In another embodiment, the TURN server receives a request for provision of a first TURN service from the TURN client to connect to a TURN peer, and the presence of the TURN server is masked when relaying communication between the client and the peer.
