This ignition device (2) is disposed inside a nuclear-reactor containment vessel. The ignition device (2) is provided with: a container (4) provided with a sealed internal space; an ignition unit (5) which is disposed in a space outside the container, and which is capable of igniting an inflammable gas inside the nuclear-reactor containment vessel; and a power supply member (6) which is at least partially disposed in the internal space, and which supplies, to the ignition unit, power from a power source.
