PURPOSE:To improve the offsetting resistane and fixability of a developer and to render high image quality to a fixed image by using a resin having a specified weight average mol. wt. and a specified number average mol. wt. CONSTITUTION:The subject developer is produced by dispersing a toner based on a resin (A) having 20,000-50,000 weight average mol. wt. and 15,000-40,000 number average mol. wt. and a colorant (B) in a liq. carrier made of an aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent and/or a halogenated aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent having high insulating property and a low dielectric constant. A latent image in a prescribed electrophotographic copying machine is developed with the developer, transferred and heat-fixed to form an image. A lauryl methacrylate/ methyl methacrylate;methacrylic acid terpolymer may be used as the resin A and a pigment subjected to flushing treatment as the colorant B. |
