The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a flexible external tooth gear with high wear resistance and fatigue strength, wherein the surface strength of the flexible external tooth gear is maintained within a fixed range. The method for manufacturing a flexible external tooth gear comprises: a first step of manufacturing a first molding product by performing a near net shape plastic process in a material made of low alloy steel of which silicon content is 1.45-1.5 wt%; a second step of martempering the first molding product; a third step of manufacturing a second molding product from the first molding product; and a fourth step of making a surface part of a tooth part or the like to be martensite by shot-peening the second molding product. |
