The invention relates to a vehicle tyre in which the sidewall is protected optimally against damage. According to the invention, a sub-region of the sidewall (11) has a pronounced structured surface (2) having regularly arranged sidewall elements (3) and pronounced recesses (4) located therebetween, wherein said sub-region of the sidewall (11) having the structured surface has a positive proportion of rubber material of 20 to 70%, wherein the sidewall elements (3), in conjunction with the recesses (4) located therebetween, increase the resilient properties of the outer side of the sidewall (11), by which means the cut resistance of the sidewall (11) with respect to sharp-edged objects is substantially increased. |
