Provided is a method for manufacturing an unsaturated acid from an ammonium salt of a carboxylic acid, which comprises the steps of: providing a mixture including an ammonium salt of a carboxylic acid; concentrating the mixture; providing a solvent having the boiling point of 200°C or more; and heating the solvent at the temperature lower than the boiling point of the solvent, and separating a salt from the ammonium salt of the carboxylic acid and dehydrating a hydroxycarboxylic acid at the same time to convert the same into an unsaturated acid.
