PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of recognizing the short circuit of a PWM driver circuit.SOLUTION: The PWM driver circuit 100 includes a PWM modulator 104 and an output stage device 106. The output stage device 106 provides an output signal 110 in response to a control signal 108 provided from a PWM modulator 104. The PWM driver circuit 100 includes a step of analyzing the voltage value of the output signal 110 as a reaction with the signal level change and/or signal level change time of the control signal 108. The analysis step is performed using a previously defined threshold (V) for evaluating the voltage value in order to recognize the short circuit.
