The invention relates to a cyanide-free chemical composition and method for application thereof, the composition being used for in situ coating of electrical contacts made of copper or other metal in order to improve the electric transmission of same. The composition comprises: a metal agent; a thickener; a complexing agent; an alkalising agent; a solvent; and water.
