PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely improve sealing properties between a yoke and an end frame at low cost in a starter. ! SOLUTION: A seal member 13 is pasted to an outer peripheral surface of a yoke 3. A pasting position of the seal member 13 is so set that the seal member 13 is brought in contact with an end frame 4 in a state of being compressed in an axial direction. Thereby, since the seal member 13 is pasted to the outer peripheral surface of the yoke 3, a positional deviation is hard to occur. By fastening with a through bolt 10 to resiliently bring the seal member 13 into contact with the end frame 4, sufficient stable sealing properties are obtained, which eliminates a need to apply an additional sealing agent.
