<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability of a sewing machine allowing a machine body to be fixed in an inverted state in switching between an upright position and an inverted position. <P>SOLUTION: A fixing device 4 for fixing the machine body in the inverted position when the machine body 3 is turned to shift the position from the upright position to the inverted position includes: a pin member 24 projecting from a machine table 2; a holding member 5 whose one end is turnably coupled to the machine body and in which a groove 7 for inserting the pin member is formed; and a restraining device 6 for restraining the direction of movement when the pin member is relatively moved within the groove in response to the turning of the machine body. The restraining device includes a movable member 61 configured to shift between a closed state to close a locking groove part 9 of the groove and an opened state to open the locking groove part. When the contact pressure of the weight of the machine body itself is applied to the movable member from the pin member when the machine body is turned, the movable member is in the opened state, and the direction of movement of the pin member is switched from the direction toward a guide groove 8 to the direction toward the locking groove part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
