Disclosed are a battery cell and a battery module using the same to extend the battery cell without limiting the number of the battery cells. A battery cell according to the present invention includes a main body, at least one rail, and at least one rail groove which is formed on one side of the main body where the rail is not installed. A cooling material is open to the outside in the rail. A closed cooling hole is formed in a region except the cooling material. The width of the rail is proportional to the width of a side where the rail is installed. The width of the cooling hole is proportional to the width of a rail where a corresponding cooling hole is installed.
