PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support structure and an ion generator which can suppress the degradation in insulation quality of a repeller.SOLUTION: An ion generator 10 comprises: an arc chamber 12; a repeller 62 having a repeller plate 64 which is arranged inside the arc chamber, and a repeller extension part 66 which is inserted through a through-hole 60 communicating the inside and outside of the arc chamber 12 with each other; and a support structure 70 which is arranged outside the arc chamber 12 and supports the repeller in such a manner as to maintain a gap 60a between the repeller extension part 66 and the inner wall of the through-hole 60. The support structure 70 has: a cover member 80 which defines, outside the arc chamber 12, a cell 88 communicating with the gap 60a; and an insulation member 72 which electrically insulates the arc chamber 12 from the repeller 62. |
